Worth House is a family run bed and breakfast, owned by Sarah who lives in the house with her three daughters. The family relocated to Somerset towards the end of 2014 when Sarah came across Worth House for sale. The property was dated but the space and potential were simply too much to resist, not to mention the fabulous willow tree in the back garden! So she took on the challenge of turning it around in four months with the aim of opening for Easter 2015. Forever an ongoing project, Worth House is a home and business in equal measure, and a labour of love!
Sarah comes from a musical background and trained as a double bass player at the Royal Academy of Music. However, ultimately not interested in pursuing a career in music, she went to Paris to work and learn French following her degree, then returned to the UK to study at the Oxford Business School, subsequently working in the Corporate Marketing team for the pan-European Equity sales desk at Goldman Sachs in London.
In pursuit of something completely different and keen to get out of London, a spontaneous move to Mallorca in 2002 changed her life and she spent over 12 years in the town of Sóller in the north west Tramuntana mountain region of the island, running a holiday property and property management business.
Sarah met Andy at the end of 2021, and what began as a chance meeting soon grew into something special. In the autumn of 2025, against the beautiful backdrop of Corfe Castle, Andy proposed, and the following year he and his two sons joined Sarah and her three daughters to make a lively, happy home together at Worth House.
Andy has been part of the wine world since he was 18. After a brief detour into car sales and banking, he quickly realised his heart was still in wine and happily returned to the industry he loves. While he continues his ‘proper’ job in the wine trade – something our guests may also enjoy – he is also very much hands-on in the family business, always ready to lend a hand wherever needed.
